The Wedding of Milan Danielle Cofield-Miles

Her Story

"It was the last semester before summer break. It was warm but not too hot. My friends and I were still into dressing alike. We wore tank tops and sneakers to Carowinds. This had become a tradition for them but as a late comer to the group this would be my first time. I remember thinking “I hate roller coasters.” We all gathered together and most of the people I knew accept for one. They introduced me to this guy and I remember thinking he seemed nice and had a nice smile. He introduced himself as B.Hyde. I managed to dodge most attempts at roller coaster rides until we got to one in particular. I walked down with my legs shaking hoping I hold it together long enough to get through the ride. It wasn’t until I was on and strapped in that I realized this wasn’t your normal roller coaster. My stomach sank I stared at the empty seat next to me and plotted getting off until this guy ,who up until a few minutes ago was a stranger, sat next to me. With a reassuring smile he secured his seat, made a few jokes to get me to laugh and made my panic dissolve...who knew that the same person who sat next me on that day would be the same person whom would ask for me to sit next to him on this crazy roller coaster we call life...to be continued."

His Version

"So close... yet so far away. That would most likely be the first chapter of a biography of Milan and I. There's no other way to explain it. Milan and I are from the same city. My father was a staff member at the elementary school that Milan and her sister attended. As a caterer, my grandmother crossed paths with Milan's father from time to time. Milan's mother knew my uncle and yet, we didn't personally meet until that warm spring day at Carowinds. You always ask yourself that question as an adolescent, "I wonder what my future spouse will be like?" Many of us think we know but fate always finds a way to make "weathermen" out of our assumptions. I remember Milan being quiet and sorta shy with a down to earth attitude and a great sense of humor when we first met. I can't remember our exact first words but I most likely tried to make her laugh. For the remainder of college, I saw that shy girl from Carowinds develop an edge about her. Her curly hair with brown highlights evolved in to style of long straight bangs that slightly covered her eyes. The tank top, jeans and sneakers evolved into form fitting dresses and heels. The laughs and conversation became more sophisticated. The only thing that didn't change was that she would hardly return my text messages or in those days BBMs (I know you guys remember Blackberry phones). After sometime, I figured maybe the occasional flirting was just how she was and that she saw me more as a good friend than someone she'd like to date. That was until I decided to let my guard down, take advice from my guys and give it one more good shot during the holidays of 2009. After that... the "far away" chapter of our lives came to a close. Now we are so close... and yet only months away...To be continued.

Guest Lodging

For those of you whom will be traveling from out of town, we welcome you to stay in our beautiful sprawling city of Charlotte, NC for the weekend. The invitations which were mailed to you will ask whether or not you will require a hotel during the weekend of Milan and Brandon's wedding. We have made preliminary plans with The Hilton Charlotte University Place to begin reserving rooms blocks for our wedding party and guests. Milan and Brandon will send additional information to you once we have your RSVP.

Wedding Ceremony and Reception

Please join the Milan Cofield-Miles, Brandon Hyde and their wedding party at The Hotel Concord located at 14 Union Street N, Concord, NC 28025. The wedding ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00PM (EST) with cocktail hour and dinner reception to follow. Semi-Formal attire is recommended and it is our wishes that this be an adults only occasion. There will be free public parking for The Hotel Concord in the parking deck next to 30 Cabarrus Ave W, Concord, NC 28025 at the intersection of Cabarrus Avenue W and Market Street SW.

For our family and friends that will be walking the aisle on June 8th, we will hold a brief wedding rehearsal at The Hotel Concord so that everyone can meet one another and ultimately to go over any day-off logistics and details.
